Under this policy you can choose to insure various types of farm property. Farm buildings and other property can be insured on either a replacement or indemnity basis. A market value option is available for insured livestock and your farm produce can be covered for up to the amount you would have received had it been sold. You can also choose to insure your farm fencing, farm vehicles, grains, seeds, chemicals, fertilisers and hay.
The Farm Property Damage policy includes the following additional benefits:
- Additional working costs
- Agistment costs or loss of agistment income
- Cover for building materials while altering or adding to a farm building
- Cover for contamination of milk
- Demolition, clearing of debris, architects fees and the restoration of farm business records
- Deterioration of farm produce
- Repair or replacement of employees’ tools and equipment
- Costs to investigate damage caused by the escape of liquid
- Costs to produce a written farm business plan
- Costs to restore to health, destroy for humane reasons, and remove and dispose of carcasses of insured livestock, working dogs and horses
- Costs incurred to safeguard property from the imminent threat of fire
- Legal costs
- Mortgage discharge fees and charges
- Costs to remove burnt out stumps and replace with seedlings
- Professional fees incurred in connection with a tax audit
The sum insured for farm buildings also includes extra costs you incur to comply with requirements of public authorities when rebuilding. If required, you have the option of increasing the insured value on many of the additional benefits.
