Fire is one of the greatest risks for your crop. With the WFI Early Bird Crop policy you can select to insure your crop against damage directly caused by fire. This includes damage to your crop as a result of you taking steps to safeguard it from the immediate threat of fire.
Hail is another major risk for crop growers across Australia. You can insure your crop for damage directly caused by the impact of hailstones by selecting this cover in the WFI Early Bird Crop policy.
WFI Early Bird Crop policy can provide you with insurance for accidental loss or damage to harvested seed produced from your crop whilst stored in a silo on your property. This includes loss or damage directly caused by fire, spontaneous combustion, storm, lightning, explosion and impact by vehicles or animals.
Cover can also be provided for damage to your crops caused by straying livestock that do not belong to you, and have not strayed from a property in which you have a financial interest. Following such an event, you will be asked to provide us with the name and address of the owner of the livestock and the occupier of the farm from which they strayed.
Insurance can be provided for damage to your crops which is directly caused by the escape of harmful chemicals from a property in which you do not have a financial interest. Insurance is provided where damage to the crop through someone else’s ground spraying operation results in a reduction in yield. Following such an event, you will be asked to provide us with the name and address of the person who occupied or owned the land on which the ground spraying was carried out.
