Finance journalist, Julian Lorkin chats to Mark Smith, owner of his own plumbing business about the challenges he has faced over the years. Initially the problems were typical of a new business. He ignored cash flow and ‘hoped for the best’. But by learning as he was going and through trial and error the business grew.

 Mark talks about adapting his marketing strategy as things changed over time, and highlights the importance of having a support network to take advice from. Julian explores the challenges Mark encountered that represent thousands of small business tradies all around the country.
